BENJAMIN GOETHE SIGNS WITH GARAGE 59 FOR 2023 GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE CAMPAIGN

Reigning GTWCE Silver Cup champion Benjamin Goethe will compete for overall victory in 2023 behind the wheel of a Garage 59 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo.

Goethe enjoyed an outstanding 2022 campaign in the championship, claiming four class victories, including his triumph at the Spa 24, and five further podium finishes and winning both the GTWCE Silver and the GTWCE Endurance Cup Silver titles with Team WRT.

For the 2023 season, the ROFGO Racing supported driver graduates to PRO class, joining Garage 59. He made his race debut with the team at the end of last year at the Gulf 12 Hours where he finished on the podium alongside Marvin Kirchhöfer and Alexander West.

Following their highly successful first race together, Goethe decided to join the British outfit for a full-season effort in the GT World Challenge European Championship. In the Sprint Cup, the German-Danish driver will share the #159 McLaren 720S GT3 Evo with Danish youngster Nicolai Kjærgaard, while the duo will be joined by German GT ace Marvin Kirchhöfer for the Endurance Cup races.

The GTWCE season commences on 7-8 March with the official test at Circuit Paul Ricard, followed by a total of ten rounds, including the iconic 24H of Spa and two home races for Benjamin at Hockenheim and the Nürburgring.

Benjamin Goethe:

“I am very excited for the upcoming season with Garage 59. It’s an exciting challenge for me to race in PRO class with a new team in a new car but I am really looking forward to it. We have a competitive line-up and a very experienced team. I am grateful to my partners, ROFGO Racing, Venture Engineering, Gulf Oil International, Pit Stop Monte Carlo and Tag Heuer for their support. Bring on Monza!”

Stuart Hall, Motorsports Director, ROFGO Racing:

“After what was a sensational 2022 for Benjie, this is a fantastic opportunity for him to graduate to the Pro class this year. I feel very proud to watch his progress. I have been working with him since he was eight and now he is competing against the world’s best on merit.
